"The I Can't Believe Summer Is Over Sleepover"

Let me set the scene for you. For Cheyanne's birthday party in June, she wanted to go ice-skating. I simply could not afford to take all thirty of them, so we went to the Mini Golf place in Burleson instead. However, Cody promised her we would have a sleepover and go ice-skating with five of her friends before school started. We have been so busy with NOTHING that time got away from us. So, this weekend, Cheyanne with her brilliant memory reminded us of this "promise" Cody had made. Knowing school starts Wednesday and we needed Tuesday to prepare, we chose Sunday night. Cheyanne invited Mikayla, Hannah, Tylon, Preslie, and Kelsie. The sleepover was grand!!! Six squealing little girls and the twins through some of it. Oh!!!! Did I mention that this was Cody's promise and he took some boys from church to the Rangers game. I had the girls to myself. I decided since we would be getting home late from church, I would just order pizza to be delivered. At 7:41 pm I ordered from Royal Pizza in Joshua. After several phone calls with their excuses, the pizza was "on it's way". Still not delivered, we called again and the pizza shop had closed. Since it was now 9:30 pm I decided we had to eat something. I began fixing cheese dip and chips when I heard a knock at the door. At 9:44 pm our cold pizza was delivered. Besides that and some of the "she won't play with me", everything went pretty good. We then ventured to the skating rink on Monday. Out of the six girls, three had never ice-skated before. All of the girls were pretty good by the time we left. I had to carry several of them off the ice a couple of times when they fell a little hard. I loved on them and sent them off to play some more. Carrying those big girls across the ice while skating myself was very difficult. Oh!!! Did I mention that Cody was working while I kept up his promise and took the girls. I am just playing with him. I understand him having to work. BUT I do want to give him a hard time about it. The girls had a wonderful time. I had a great time with them. However, I am not going to procrastinate until the end of summer again.
